If you desire a ring with an antique look, perhaps reminiscent of your mother or grandmother's engagement ring, then you will love this design that we call "Diamond Dominoes". This platinum engagement ring and wedding band feature elements popular during the 1940's.
The center diamond is set in a "needle point" box mounting. Each corner of the setting has a sturdy prong that is split at the top to form three beads. To the sides of the center diamond, four small round diamonds are bead set in milgrained rectangular compartments. The tiny bead-like pattern along the edges of the settings, known as "milgraining," creates a refined elegance that is common to the jewels of yesteryear. The platinum wedding band follows the design of the engagement ring. Nine small diamonds are arrayed like milgrained "dominoes". When the engagement ring and band are brought together, the diamonds perfectly align and create a dazzling wall of platinum and sparkle. |
 The sides of the setting holding the larger diamond are pierced with an open design. The cut-outs and curves add a decorative element, while giving the ring a more open and delicate look. Note the thickness of the platinum shank (the part of the ring that fits around your finger) and the settings which hold the diamonds. This creates a bridal set that will last for decades and always securely hold your gemstones. |

The wedding band is contoured to snuggly fit beside the engagement ring. When worn together they form a perfectly matched pair, just like you and your beloved. As with all fine jewels, the inside of the ring and band are stamped with the purity of the precious metals, in this case platinum. Below you can see the purity mark, "10% Iridium 90% Platinum," as well as the maker's hallmark. |
