Hand Engraved Platinum Ring
with Lavender Spinel

The ring is beautifully hand engraved with flowing,  romantic scrolls.   Spaced between the swirling scrolls are two delicate flowers each set with a tiny round brilliant diamond for sparkling accent.   This ring is an elegant variation of our  Solitaire Scrolls  design.

We crafted the ring so that the setting would perfectly match the shape and size of the Spinel.

This view displays the stately shape and angles of the bezel setting that rests impressively within a flat-edged band.   We tapered the width of the band at the shoulders as it rises up towards the bezel setting,  for a refined look.    This creates a cathedral-like setting for the gemstone and keeps the ring from looking heavy or blocky.

The richly engraved scrolls flow down the shoulders and sides of the ring,   while the edges of the band are milgrained with a small bead-like pattern for an added touch of elegance.

The Spinel is a lush lavender hue with subtle overtones of red and gray....reminiscent of a field of Irises on a rainy spring day.

Although the narrowing shoulders presented a challenge,  our engraver masterfully continued the flowing scrolls in the smaller space.  The talent of a master craftsman is most apparent in small details.

We polished the walls and top edges of the bezel setting with a bright polish to contrast with the romantic feel of the engraved scrolls pattern, adding further emphasis to the stunning shape and color of this beautiful natural Spinel.

Swirling scrolls flow gracefully along the circumference of the band,   like rolling waves along a beach.  Hand engraving a ring like this requires an artist's eye for detail,  a steady hand and several days on the jeweler's bench.

In this side view you can see the symmetry of the design and the care with which the ring was created.  Note the thickness of the band throughout its circumference and the sturdiness of the setting.  This ring was designed to wear beautifully for several generations.

We also engraved one portion of the back wall of the bezel setting with a four-petal flower and set a sparkling white diamond within the center,   for a subtle touch of brilliance.

Viewing the inside of the ring,  you can see the symmetry of the design and the care with which it was hand crafted.  The underside of the ring is smoothly finished with crisp symmetrical edges and a beautiful polish.
