| The elegant geometry of Art Deco design is recalled in this sapphire and diamond ring. The emerald-cut sapphire is a rich royal blue and weighs 1.3 carats. We fell in love with the sapphire's luminous, velvety color that is reminiscent of a clear blue sky on a cool winter's day.
The sapphire is accented with six baguette-cut diamonds - four set in a tiered arrangement below the sapphire and two burnish set along the shoulders of the platinum ring. Baguette diamonds were first popularized during the Art Deco era. The rings is beautifully crafted in platinum, another Art Deco favorite. |
 The stepped tiers of the sapphire and diamonds gives this ring design a dynamic look. The sapphire is held in a basket setting with four rounded platinum prongs. The four upper baguette diamonds are channel set in descending box settings. The outer edges of the box settings are open for a more airy, delicate look.
 From the side you can see the sturdy walls of the diamond settings and the solid platinum band of the ring. The band maintains its thickness throughtout its circumference, assuring many years of wear and enjoyment.
 You should always closely examine the underside of any jewel you consider purchasing. Here you can see the sturdy under gallery that securely holds and protects the sapphire and diamonds. Note the even, symmetrical cut-outs beneath the gemstones and the smoothly polished inner surfaces of the ring.
