gold band is hand-engraved with a swirling pattern of lavish
scrolls. The focal point of the ring is an engraved flower
set with a vivid yellow diamond. The detailed texture and
veins of the flower's petals are incredible. The elegant scrolls continue around the circumference of the band in an undulating, naturalistic pattern. The background of the band and engraved details of the scrolls are darkened for heightened contrast.  This type of engraving is known as "relief engraving." In relief engraving the engraver carves away the background leaving highlights and detailed elements. The process involves more time and labor than other forms of engraving .... but the results are stunning. |
