Elegant Art Nouveau CufflinksSensuous Curves! |
Flowing, unrestrained curves are a hallmark of Art Nouveau design. These elegant gold cufflinks from the early 1900s beautifully capture the spirit of age. The sinuous curves recall the artwork of Alphonse Mucha and Aubrey Beardsley. Crafted in 14kt gold.
The polished backs of the cufflinks are crafted in 14kt rose gold. The pinkish cast of the gold nicely contrasts with the yellow gold fronts. The solid tops are attached to bean-shape backs with sturdy "crow foot" bridges. Note the goldsmith's attention to the finish and small details.
These cufflinks were created by Krementz & Company. Krementz & Company was founded in 1866 and known for elegant jewels during the Victorian and later periods. Krementz also made distinctive jewels for men including cufflinks and dress sets. In fact, the Krementz hallmark is a stylized collar button as seen above just to the right of the "14K" precious metal mark.
