Jewelers of the Art Nouveau era were masters at creating small, life-like flowers in enamel and gold. This iris brooch is a wonderful example of their artistry. Crafted in 14kt gold and set with a small Old European-cut diamond, circa 1900. |

![]() The clasp and the lower leaf are marked "14K". To the left of the gold mark on the leaf there appears to be an indistinct maker's mark. It may be a flaming torch lying on its side - the maker's mark of Bippart, Griscom and Osborn, a fine jewelry firm based in Newark, New Jersey at the turn of the last century. Although the mark cannot be clearly identified...."would not this iris brooch, by any other maker, be as sweet!"
![]() Cost: Although this beautiful brooch has sold, you will find many more fine brooches in the Antique Brooch Gallery. |
