Carrington Jade CufflinksCarrington Jade II |
Elegant, classic cufflinks set with verdant green
jades from the early 20th century. The warm glow of the
gold settings beautifully complements the mottled green depths
of the jade. Created by Carrington & Co. in 14kt gold,
circa 1900.
As with most Carrington cufflinks, this pair is finely crafted. The backs and usually unseen surfaces are smoothly finished and polished: the edges are crisp and softly rounded. A sturdy, straight bridge connects the oval fronts to angled "bean" backs - a design favored by Carrington & Co. in the early 1900s. The maker's mark of Carrington & Company - a squared "C" enclosing the gold purity mark "14" - is stamped on the reverse of the tops.
Carrington was a maker of beautifully designed, finely crafted cufflinks during the first half of the 20th century. The firm's cufflinks and tuxedo sets were retailed by Tiffany & Co. and other carriage trade jewelers of the day. Name: Carrington Jade II
