A dramatic Victorian brooch inspired by the ancient Celtic Crosses of the Irish countryside. The brooch features a rich golden orange Citrine accented with four stations decorated with interlaced Celtic designs. An outer circle of interlaced designs, a polished gold halo and twisted wire work surround the bezel-set Citrine.
![]() Victorians loved jewels inspired by ancient and distant cultures. During the 1860s and 1870s there were various Etruscan, Egyptian, Greek, Gothic, Renaissance, Scottish and Celtic Revivals. This brooch is a wonderful example of the jewels created during the Celtic Revival.
![]() The back of the brooch is well constructed with a sturdy pin stem and "C" clasp. The gold surfaces are polished with a rich golden glow. Near the base of the brooch is a small loop to which a gold safety chain would have been attached. Name: Celtic Revival! |
