Our Cool
Blue design has taken a new turn .... horizontal
that is! This handcrafted platinum ring features a rich
blue concave-faceted sapphire bezel set horizontally across the
top of the ring. Two trilliant diamonds burnish set in the
shoulders of the ring accent the sapphire. The striking sapphire was cut by an innovative and talented gem cutter, who has mastered the difficult art of concave faceting. When cutting the sapphire, he slightly cupped and curved the normally flat facets. These concave facets create a gemstone with greater brilliance and dazzling color than ordinary flat-faceted sapphires.  From the side you can see the thickness of the band as it tapers slightly towards the base. The quality and thickness of the band ensures lasting beauty and years of enjoyment. We make our rings to last not just a lifetime, but several generations. You should be able to enjoy your jewels as they become family heirlooms. |

 Examining the inside of the ring you can see the thick walls of the bezel that protect the sapphire. Our platinum smith polished the underside of the ring to the same mirror-like finish that graces the top. The true sign of a master craftsman is that he or she finishes the hidden parts of a jewel with the same care as the topside. Also note the symmetrical and smooth underside of the settings, and the seamless joints between the setting and the band. |

| The concave-faceted oval sapphire measures 7.8 x 6.0 millimeters and weighs 1.75 carats. The two trilliant-cut diamonds weigh a total of 0.23 carats. They are D-E color and SI1 clarity. | ||

| It is common practice for gem cutters to heat sapphires to improve their color and appearance. You should assume that all sapphires have been heat treated unless the seller specifically guarantees otherwise. We believe the sapphire set in this ring has been heat treated. | ||

If you choose this design for an engagement ring, a
matching wedding band can be created. The wedding band
can be contoured so that it gently flows around the sapphire
