Festive garlands frame small, radiant stars
while entwining foliate-scroll borders bring to mind celebratory
streamers hanging from a ceiling. These elegant cufflinks
capture the celebratory exuberance of the Jazz Age.
Created by Jacob Hookaylo in 14kt gold circa 1925.
![]() The craftsmanship of the Hookaylo workshop is evident on the backs of these cufflinks. Note the dramatic wing-form bridge, a Hookaylo signature, and the sturdy brackets that secure the cufflinks when worn. These cufflinks were crafted to survive the next 100 years as beautifully as they survived the last.
![]() Jacob Hookaylo was a gifted jeweler who emigrated from Russia in the early 1900s and opened a workshop in northern New Jersey. During the 1920s and 1930s his workshop created beautifully engraved cufflinks that are miniature works of art in the Art Deco style. The cross bars are stamped "14-K" for the purity of the gold.
