Elegantly Engraved "S" Cufflinks
Elegant "S" |
| A brightly engraved "S" on one side and a
star-set diamond on the other framed by borders of concentric
circles with quatrefoil motifs. These sparkling cufflinks
were created by Kohn & Co. in 10kt gold circa 1925.
 The cufflinks are well crafted with sturdy brackets and strong oval links securing them on the cuff. Beneath the bracket on the left is the maker's mark of Kohn & Company, a "1" and "0" surrounding a "K".  Henry Kohn was the proprietor of a luxury goods emporium, Henry Kohn & Sons, located in Hartford, Connecticut. In the late 1890s Mr. Kohn founded Kohn & Co. to create fine jewelry and cufflinks for sale at his store and other retail establishments. Kohn & Co. remained in operation until the mid 1930s. In 1951 Henry Kohn & Sons was absorbed by the venerable Hartford department store G. Fox & Co. Name: Elegant "S"
