Art Deco Jade StickpinDeco Jade! |
A boldly geometric stickpin set with an elongated jade cabochon. A wonderful example of the influence of Chinese art and architecture on Art Deco design. Created by Taylor & Co. in 14kt gold, circa 1930.
Taylor & Company was a maker of fine gold and platinum jewelry during the early 20th century. Founded in 1906, the firm created elegant cufflinks and stickpins through the 1930s. Of particular note are the firm's iconic designs during the Art Deco period. Note how the surface of the gold was subtly textured and polished to highlight the depth of the design. This stickpin is well crafted with a sturdy gold pin stem to secure the jewel on a lapel or scarf. The maker's mark of Taylor & Co. ("14" and "K" separated by an oversized "T") is stamped on the lower reverse beneath the pin stem. Cost: Although this elegant stickpin has sold, you will find many more fine stickpins in the Antique Stickpin Gallery. |
