![]() Sapphire and Diamond Cufflinks![]() Tiffany Art Nouveau |
Flowing Art Nouveau curves surrounding
sparkling blue sapphires and Old European-cut diamonds.
These elegant cufflinks were created by Tiffany & Company in
18kt gold in the years around 1900. Tiffany & Co. was
a significant influence in the development of the Art Nouveau
style in North America. ![]() The backs of the cufflinks are as carefully crafted as the fronts. They are attached with sturdy figure-eight cross members, a bridge style favored by Tiffany & Co. during the early 1900s. There is elegance in the simplicity of the design and the jeweler's attention to small details.
![]() The reverse of the cufflinks show the maker's mark of "Tiffany & Co." Although Tiffany's offered fine cufflinks created by many of the makers featured in the Antique Cufflink Gallery, the firm also designed and created cufflinks of its own. This pair is a wonderful example.
