Engraved Trillium Sapphire Ring

| Our "Sapphire Solitaire" rings are a distinctive collection of handcrafted, hand-engraved gold and platinum rings featuring trillium-cut gemstones. Recently we created a platinum Sapphire Solitaire ring for a couple featuring a vibrant 1.40 carat trillium-cut sapphire. They loved the engagement ring so much that they asked us to create a matching wedding band! |

Atop the engagement ring the trillium sapphire is set with three platinum prongs above the beautifully hand engraved band. The shoulders of the ring gently sweep upward and are slightly pinched inward, creating a cathedral-like effect where the ring rises up towards the sapphire. The trick was to create a wedding band to enhance, but not overshadow, the engraved elegance of the engagement ring!
 We worked closely with our platinum smith to hand create a custom band that fits snuggly around the top of the sapphire. Like the engagement ring, the top and sides of the band are meticulously hand-engraved with a dramatic chevron pattern. In the shop we call this style of engraving "Woodstock's feet," because the pattern reminds us of the tracks left by Snoopy's friend in the snow. For an additional touch of elegance, the edges of the platinum band are finely milgrained.
 Viewing the outer face of the band, you can see the detail of the engraving and the care with which the band was created. Note the thickness of the band throughout its circumference and the depth and crispness of the hand-engraving. The inside surface of the band is just as beautifully engraved and finished. |

 Creating this bridal set involved three different craftsmen, each an expert in his specialty. First, the basic form and shape of each ring was hand crafted by a master platinum smith who took special care to assure that the setting perfectly fit the trillium sapphire and the band perfectly fit the ring. Next an expert engraver meticulously hand engraved the platinum surfaces of the rings and milgrained the edges with the bead-like pattern. Finally, the sapphire was precisely set by a talented gem setter.
 As with all the jewels we create, the inside of the ring and band are finished as nicely as the top. The underside of the rings are crisply finished, symmetrical and beautifully polished. Also note the Bijoux Extraordinaire hallmark ("BEL") and the platinum metal mark ("PLAT"), your assurance of quality, craftsmanship and beauty.
