An Art Nouveau four-leaf clover brooch with a diamond in the center sparkling like a small dew drop. The finely textured, undulating leaves, richly detailed veins and "crescent moons" are a nice example of Art Nouveau design and craftsmanship. Created by Whiteside & Blank in 14kt gold, circa 1900.
![]() The brooch is beautifully crafted. Note the sturdy framework which supports and protects the leaves of the clover. The brooch is secured on a hat or blouse with a sturdy pin stem and "C" clasp. The attention to small details is indicative of the care taken by Whiteside & Blank in creating the jewel.
![]() The maker's mark of Whiteside & Blank - a crescent pierced by an arrow - is stamped on the top of the "C" clasp followed by "14" for the purity of the gold. Whiteside & Blank was a maker of beautiful brooches, cufflinks and other fine jewels during the late 19th century and early 20th century. Around 1900 the firm created a wonderful collection of golden Art Nouveau flowers of which this four-leaf clover brooch is an example. Name: Four-Leaf Clover |
