Art Deco Sapphire CufflinksJungle Sapphire |
A tangle of stylized palm fronds and jungle
foliage fills white gold borders surrounding radiant sunburst
centers. A deep blue sapphire cabochon sits in the middle
of one of the sunbursts. Created by Ziething & Co. in
10kt gold circa 1925.
The backs of the cufflinks are as finely crafted as the fronts. Note the sturdy cross bars anchored in strong tube brackets that secure these cufflinks on the cuff. The 10kt yellow gold backs have a polished finish and gently rounded edges.
The maker's mark of Ziething & Company (a "Z" inside a diamond-shaped frame) is stamped on the cross bars. Ziething & Co. was a maker of finely engraved cufflinks during the 1920s and 1930s. The opposite side of the cross bar is stamped "10K" for the purity of the gold. Name: Jungle Sapphire |
