Exuberant sunflowers and a tangle of whiplash vines grace these Art Nouveau cufflinks. The dramatic sunflowers and vines, beautifully sculpted in gold, seem to radiate sunlight and warmth. Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1900.
 In the years around 1900 Art Nouveau jewelers created beautiful jewels that interpreted nature in fantastic, sometimes surreal, ways. These cufflink are a nice example of the striking, nature-inspired designs of the Art Nouveau era.
The cufflinks are well constructed with "bean" backs. The fronts are connected to the bean backs with sturdy split bridges strengthened by a small gold ball set at the split. The inside of the bean backs are stamped "14K" for the purity of the gold and with an unidentified maker's mark, a stylized Maltese cross.
