Art Deco Jade Stickpin

Hans Brassler jade stickpin. (J9191)

Brassler Jade

Flowing Art Nouveau curves and classical laurel wreath borders frame a luminous coffin-shaped jade.  A beautifully crafted example of the elegant jewels created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold in the early 1900s.

Hans Brassler was a wonderfully imaginative jeweler who around 1910 created a unique, strikingly beautiful collection of stickpins and other diminutive jewels.  He often wedded elements of Art Nouveau, Art Deco and classical design in striking miniature works of art.

This stickpin is finely crafted with a sturdy gold pin stem to secure the jewel on a lapel or scarf.  The maker's mark of Hans Brassler's workshop, a double oval enclosing "14" followed by a "B", is stamped on the lower reverse behind the pin stem (see photo below).

Cost:  $685

Measurements:  This 14kt gold stickpin is 2 5/8" long and the top measures 11/16" by  7/16".  It weighs 2.6 grams.
