Carrington Jade Cufflinks
Carrington Jade II
|Elegantly colorful cufflinks with striking
mottled green jades set in gold. The mysterious green
depths of the jade play beautifully against the warm glow of the
yellow gold. Finely crafted by Carrington & Co. in
14kt gold, circa 1900.
The linkage (the parts holding the two ends of a cufflink together) is finely crafted with straight bridges connecting the oval fronts to smaller "bean" backs. This design helps securely hold the cufflinks on the cuff. The tops are stamped with a boxy "C" enclosing "14" - the maker's mark of Carrington & Company.
Carrington was a maker of exceptional cufflinks during the first half of the 20th century. The firm was known for its elegant designs and masterful craftsmanship. Carrington cufflinks were sold by Tiffany & Co. and other carriage-trade jewelers of the day.
