Art Deco Onyx Cufflinks

Onyx and Platinum!

Platinum and onyx are inescapably elegant. These striking Carrington cufflinks feature eight-sided black onyx centers surrounded by brightly polished and engraved platinum borders. Crafted in platinum and 14kt gold, circa 1925.

Like most Carrington jewels, these cufflinks are beautifully constructed with 14kt yellow gold backs, strong cross bars and sturdy brackets. The gold backs protect the onyx tops and are polished to a mirror-like finish (please excuse the reflections from my camera).
The reverse of the cufflinks are stamped with the maker's mark of Carrington & Company (a "C" surrounding a "14") and "GOLD&PLAT" for the precious metals.

Carrington was a maker of fine cufflinks and dress sets from 1900 to about 1950. The firm created elegant gold and platinum cufflinks for many of the finest jewelers of the day.
