Mid-Century Sapphire Cufflinks
| Sapphire cabochons set in gently concave
platinum tops beautifully engraved with intricate patterns of
concentric circles. These vintage cufflinks are a
testament to the elegance of mid-century design. Crafted
in platinum and 14kt gold, circa 1950.
The backs of the cufflinks are well crafted in yellow gold. Note the sturdy cross bars and brackets that secure these cufflinks on the cuff. The backs are polished to a bright, mirror-like finish - please excuse the shadowy reflections of the camera.
The reverse of the cufflinks are stamped with the maker's mark of L.E. Garrigus & Co., a flowing double-ended scroll beneath "14" for the purity of the gold. L.E. Garrigus was a maker of fine cufflinks and dress sets during the middle years of the 20th century. The firm's gold and platinum jewels were sold by Tiffany & Company and other fine jewelers of the day.
