White Chalcedony Cufflinks
| White chalcedony glows like a shimmering,
luminous fog in rose gold settings. The chalcedony (a
fine grained variety of quartz) picks up the warm blush
of the gold and brings to mind the first rays of the sun peeping
through an early morning mist. Finely crafted by Sansbury
& Nellis in 14kt rose gold, circa 1930.
The craftsmanship of fine cufflinks should be apparent in every direction. The backs of these cufflinks are beautifully crafted in 14kt rose gold and polished to a bright finish (please excuse the reflections from my camera). The links are secured on the cuff by strong cross bars, stirrup connectors and sturdy strap brackets.
These cufflinks are attributed to Sansbury & Nellis, a maker of fine gem-set cufflinks and stickpins during the early decades of the 20th century. The attribution is based on the style of the cufflinks and design of the linkage. "14K" is stamped on the base of the brackets for the purity of the gold.
