Antique Black and Gold Cufflinks

Elegant gold and black enamel cufflinks (J8797).

Class of 1920!

Gold cufflinks have long been an ideal graduation gift.  I believe this elegant pair was presented to a member of the 152nd class of Brown University in 1920.  Crafted in 14kt gold, the octagonal centers are beautifully pinstriped and surrounded by black enamel borders.

The backs of the cufflinks are as well crafted as the fronts with sturdy cross bars and brackets.  The reverse of the cufflinks are engraved "Class 152" and "1920".

These cufflinks were created by Wordley, Allsopp and Bliss,  a maker of fine jewelry and cufflinks during the early decades of the last century.  The cross bars are stamped with the hallmark of the firm ("WAB").  The opposite side of the cross bars display the precious metal mark for 14kt gold ("14K").
