Elegant Blue Enamel CufflinksRegal Blue! |
Elegant cufflinks with regal blue enamel centers and striking Art Deco borders crafted in white gold. Beneath the translucent blue enamels are engraved designs of starbursts or radiant flower heads. The color of the enamel highlights the depth of the engraving and throws it into dramatic relief - a technique known as guilloche enameling. Created by Krementz & Company in 14kt gold, circa 1925.
The solid backs of the cufflinks are crafted in 14kt yellow gold and help protect the guilloche enamels. Also note the thick cross bars and sturdy trifid (three-toed) brackets which secure the cufflinks on the cuff. Krementz took equal care in designing and crafting the fronts and backs of these cufflinks.
The cross bars of the cufflinks are stamped "14K" for the purity of the gold. To the right of the gold stamp is the maker's mark of Krementz & Company - a stylized collar button (also known as the "Krementz moustache"). Krementz was founded in 1866 and crafted elegant cufflinks and other jewels during the 19th and 20th century.
