Art Nouveau Four-Leaf Clover

A beautiful Art Nouveau brooch of a four-leaf clover set with a small diamond.  The leaves are richly detailed with fine veins and characteristic crescent moons.  A wonderful example of flowing, almost surreal Art Nouveau design.  Created by Whiteside & Blank in 14kt gold, circa 1900.

The brooch is beautifully crafted and secured with a sturdy pin and "C" clasp.  Note the sturdy framework which secures and protects the leaves of the clover.  The attention to small details indicates the care taken by the maker in creating this brooch.

One side of the "C" clasp displays the maker's mark of Whiteside & Blank - a crescent pierced by an arrow.  The other side is stamped "14" for the purity of the gold.  Whiteside & Blank was a maker of fine brooches, cufflinks and other jewels during the late 1800s and early 1900s.
